Cleanse Your Mind Body Spirit

Life can be hectic and stressful and there are many disheartening things going on worldwide and almost everyone goes through heartache and tough times at some point in their life. It is important to take time out and check in with your mind-body-spirit. We should all be taking time to clear away negative energies and help restore the individual and collective consciousness.

During times of suffering we should all be focusing on our gifts and skills. A mind-body cleanse should be a regular practice for all of us. Here are a few things we find beneficial for our mind-body-spirit cleanse: 

1. Drink warm lemon water

You may have heard about intermittent fasting and cleansing the body with the right food a nutrition but we personally believe the base to this is staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water.

We suggest that first thing in the morning you have a warm water with a little bit of lemon juice added in. This will help towards healthy digestion and re-hydrate you after sleeping. Be careful and always listen to your body, lemon water is very acidic and too much may upset both your teeth and your belly.

2. Go for a walk in nature

Nature is all around us and it is important to appreciate the planet and the nature around us. Try earthing like the ancients by going barefoot. This is a great way to connect with the earth and remember what is important. It is important to not only look at the nature around you but to listen, touch and smell what is all around.

3. Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness has been shown to have beneficial effects on the brain and daily living. Be aware of your breathing and pay attention to all that you do. Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of the present moment. So take the most mundane tasks such as doing the dishes and instead of letting your mind wonder focus on the task, focus on what you are feeling and touching, focus on each of your movements
and be mindful of the present moment. We often go through our day on autopilot and miss a lot of what is around us. Being mindful can help to reduce stress and bring peace into our lives.

4. Approach All Situations And Encounters From A Place Of Compassion 

We know that this is not always easy but it really can make a difference. Often the one that is hurt the most by our action and negative thoughts is ourselves. Being compassionate comes with an inner healing. Even in the hardest of situations if you can approach it with compassion you are sure to come out of it blissfully.

5. Meditate For 10 Minutes Every Morning And Complete 10 Sun Salutes

Meditation allows us to feel peaceful and reduce stress. Giving ourselves 10 mins to meditate at the start of each morning can help us to think clearly throughout the day. We recommend completing the surya namaskara asana series after your morning meditation. This is sure to get the prana flowing each day.

6. Let All Your Emotions Out

It is important to recognise your emotions. This may sound silly but a lot of people don’t. In such a hectic world it can be easy to just carry on and ignore how we feel. It is important for growth to recognise how we feel and why we feel certain ways. This is the only way that these feelings can be released and let go of. Remember to talk to other about what is going on and allow them to support you. Spend time with those you love and have a good long laugh. Laughter is super healing!

7. Practice Pranayama

Nadi Shodana is an alternative nostril breathing exercise. This breathing exercise is designed to bring balance and clear any blockages. it is a prananyama technique that equalizes the breath through both nostrils and therefore balances. The way you breathe can significantly affect your mood and this technique can help you find peace, focus, and balance.

8. Self-massage And Have A Long Warm Bath

Teach yourself a few massage techniques and give this a go. Why not find an oil that you love and give yourself a calming massage?

Do this before taking a warm shower or bath, the steam and hot water will open the pores and drive the oil deeper into the skin. You could even try out a little reflexology and practice giving yourself a foot massage.

9. Gratification

It is important to keep a positive mind. Express your gratification to those around you and think about all you are grateful for. We find it highly beneficial to keep a gratification journal, review everyone and everything you are thank you for each night. By creating such a positive thinking habit, it is sure to cleanse you spirit.

10. Practice Yogic Sleep

A peaceful night sleep all begins with the ability to quieten the mind. Sometimes this can be hard with busy days and hundreds of thoughts rushing through. Try to utilize techniques such as guided imagery, breath awareness, and body scanning to quiet your mind. You want to cultivate a deep meditative state of consciousness for a peaceful night sleep. Before sleep be aware of your emotions and feelings, practice self-care and acceptance, give yourself permission to heal! We recommend giving a message to your subconscious before you sleep.
