Cleansing your Chakras with stones

Just as we clean our physical bodies with a bath or shower we should regularly clean our spiritual body by cleansing our Chakras. Having a blocked Chakra means that the energy is not flowing freely throughout your subtle body and this can have many consequences. Luckily it is not difficult t cleanse out Chakras and can be done fairly quickly with practice.

The Chakra stones are also known as healing stones and they contain different colours and vibrations. Every Chakra has a specific colour and a stone of the same colour can be used in Chakra healing.

Many coloured crystals can be used and depending on their specific qualities some stones may seem more effective for you than others. There are stones that work well to heal specific Chakras and those that can heal multiple Chakras and enhance other stones

Before doing any spiritual practice or opening up your Chakra we recommend getting comfy and making sure you are relaxed. Feel safe in your environment and visualize yourself surrounded by bright white light. This light will protect you and keep you safe throughout.

To cleanse our Chakras crystals are often placed on the body in the Chakras corresponding position. Before placing the crystals on the body, a pendulum can be used to shift energies and clear any energies that may be blocking the Chakras. The pendulum used should be clear or white such as Clear Quartz, Opalite, Selenite or Calcite.

I personally recommend the use of a Clear Quartz Pendulum as it’s colourless appearance brings clarity and serenity. This stone is particularly useful as it amplifies the energies of other stones. Clear Quartz is thought to shift energy and release blocked emotions, making it perfect for clearing energies within each of the Chakras

Next you will need a crystal to place on each of the Chakras. It really doesn’t matter if this is a tumbled stone, raw mineral, wand, or pyramid. We recommend using a crystal that matches the colour of the Chakra, however, in a pinch, clear Quartz is a great substitute for any stone because it contains all the colours within it, and it’s a fantastic energetic amplifier and master healer. It is important to remember there are no rules. Experiment with your crystals and work with whichever mineral you feel resonates best with your body. Honour your body and do what feels right. Even if a crystal colour does not match the Chakra colour it may be the specific qualities and energies your Chakra needs.

Crystals possess the highest vibration frequencies on earth and being around crystals can have profound effects on your health. Each crystal has its own unique energetic properties and can be used strategically to enhance sluggish Chakras.

Chakra cleansing is often done laying down flat on your back in a comfortable and relaxing way. Using the Pendulum start at the Crown Chakra, located just above the head. Hold your pendulum 6 – 12 inches over the energy centre. Let the pendulum spin naturally over this Chakra, it is believed that this is clockwise for men and anticlockwise for women, this is the direction it should spin as it clears.

After a while the pendulum should change direction. This is because after the crystal has cleansed the Chakra and it needs to replace that energy with fresh new energy. This Chakra is Violet, so after the pendulum stops spinning we suggest placing an Amethyst (or Clear Quartz) above the top of your head, off the body, to help seal in the energy.

The next Chakra to work on is the Third Eye Chakra located at the centre of the forehead. For this energy centre and all others there is no difference in the direction that the pendulum swings for either sex. The pendulum will spin counter-clockwise to take stuff out and clockwise to place energy in. Let the pendulum spin above the body in the middle of the forehead. This Chakra is Indigo, so once the pendulum has finished spinning, we suggest placing a piece of Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite or Dumortierite between the eyebrows.

Next is the throat Chakra located at the base of your throat. Again, the pendulum will spin counter-clockwise to take stagnant energies out and spin clockwise to put positive energies in. This Chakra is blue so we suggest placing a Blue Lace Agate, Blue Calcite, Turquoise or Angelite at this energy centre.

The heart Chakra is located at the centre of the chest. Let the pendulum spin until it changes direction and eventually stops. This Chakra is green so we recommend using Aventurine or Tourmaline. This Chakra is located at the sternum directly in the middle (not to the left like the physical heart). If you prefer a pink crystal can be used such as Rose Quartz.

Next is the Solar Plexus. This energy centre is in the middle of the abdominal region between your lower ribs and belly button. This Chakra is yellow so we suggest placing a piece of Amber, Citrine, yellow Jasper or yellow Calcite here.

The Sacral Chakra is the next to be cleared. This Chakra is orange so once the pendulum finishes spinning we suggest using Carnelian or Citrine. The crystal should be placed between the hip bones where your reproductive organs are

The last Chakra is the root (base) Chakra. The pendulum is used again it will change direction and stop spinning when it has finished. This Chakra is red so we recommend using Rubies, Black Tourmaline, Jet and Red Jasper. This crystal should be placed off the body between the inner thighs.

Once you are done we suggest waiting 5-15 mins to allow the energies to settle. We suggest visualising a white cloak surrounding your body and grounding you in place.

Many individuals may feel a difference after cleansing the front of the body but for others it may be beneficial to also cleanse the back of the body in the same way. We suggest doing this once a month to allow the Chakras to run smoothly.

The same process can be carried out without the pendulum, just by placing the crystals in the corresponding areas and visualising the chakras being cleared. All cleansing should be done in a relaxing environment. Make sure that the temperature is comfortable and dim the lights. Make sure to take some deep breaths and bring yourself into a state of relaxation.

Don’t worry if the crystals move or fall off. You can choose to leave them or replace them, if they are left the healing process will not stop. Energy crosses all boundaries of time and space so just do what feel right at the time. If you replace it and it falls of again we do recommend leaving it – trust the process as the energy knows what it is doing.

The same ideas can be used in relation to timing. The crystals can be left on the body for as long as needed. Your Chakras will be balanced and rejuvenated so do not force yourself to stay longer than you can manage. Forcing yourself to stay longer may create stress and unpleasant feelings. Always listen to your energies.

Your crystals are working to cleanse your Chakras so it is important to also keep them cleansed. This can easily be done by placing the crystals under running water or passing them through incense smoke or sage smoke.

Let me know how you get on and what experiences you have all had.

Namaste and always stay Zen 😊
