Life Lessons From The Dalai Lama

February 06, 2018

1. The purpose of our lives is to be happy.

2. Judge your success by what you had to give up to get it

3. Take into account that  great love and great achievement involve risk.

4. Look within - Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.

5. When we lose, don't lose the lesson

6. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.

7. Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

8. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.

9. Be gentle with the earth

10. Well-being comes through action, not through prayer.

11. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

12. Sleep is the best meditation.

13. Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.

14. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

15. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

16. Share your knowledge

17. In the practice of tolerance, one's enemy is the best teacher.

18. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.

19. In disagreements with loved ones deal with the current situation. Don't bring up the past.

20. When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect towards others.

21. Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace.

22. Spend some time alone everyday

23. Follow the 3 R's: Respect for self, Respect for others, Responsibility for all your actions

24. More compassionate mind, more sense of concern for other's well-being, is the source of happiness.
